Where do I check in/register for the conference?Check in for all attendees, speakers, and volunteers will be located at the Ivy (403 N. Walnut St.) on Friday, September 30th and at the Buskirk Chumley Theater (114 E. Kirkwood Ave.) on Saturday, October 1st.

What are good vegetarian restaurants?The Owlery is the only vegetarian restaurant in town however some other veggie-friendly spots are Anatolia, Hopscotch Kitchen, Feta, Runcible Spoon, and Michael’s Uptown Cafe.

What are good restaurants?Our top staff picks in the downtown area are: Feast, Farm Bloomington, Taste of India, Uptown Cafe, La Una Cantina, Social Cantina, Big Woods, Da Vinci Pizza, and Smokeworks.

I need to get my hair done. What salon do you recommend?We recommend Royale Hair Parlor for all hair types but we recommend calling ahead and scheduling an appointment. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and they’ll take walk-ins.

What’s a good spot to run outdoors?The B-Line Trail is easily accessible from downtown. The 3.1 miles of the trail is paved and then it connects to the Bloomington Rail Trail offering 5.1 miles total of trails.

What’s the difference between a Weekend Pass and a VIP Gold Badge?The VIP Gold Badge is all inclusive. It includes everything that the weekend pass includes plus, access to the Gold Lounge where you can get complimentary hair, makeup, and professional photos. It gives you access to not only the Friday and Saturday sessions, afterparties, and exercise offering but it also gives you access to our VIP happy hour on Friday.

How far is Indiana University from all the Be Golden activities?The iconic Sample Gates to Indiana University are 0.3 miles from the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.

Can men attend the event?Yes! All people, however they identify, are welcome to attend.

What should I wear?We want you to feel comfortable so wear whatever attire makes you feel like YOU. That can be a glittery gold skirt or a business suit or jeans and a t-shirt. Most people wear outfits with gold accents. If you’re planning on doing a workout, then plan to wear athletic attire.

Walking is difficult/impossible for me. Are there alternative forms of transportation to get to sessions?Absolutely. Ride shares such as Lyft and Uber are available as well as electric scooters, Lime, Bird, and Veo. Download the apps to use them.

How old do you have to be to attend Be Golden?There are no age restrictions to attend Be Golden however, the after parties that involve alcohol are 21+ and certain sessions may include topics that are sensitive to some attendees, regardless of age. Read session descriptions to ensure it’s fitting for you.

I identify as neither male nor female. Will Be Golden be an accepting place for me to attend?Yes! Be Golden is an open and welcoming space for all gender identities. Please report any incidents to Sarah@begoldenstaygolden.com that make you feel unwelcome!

How do I get to and around Bloomington?The nearest airport to Bloomington is the Indianapolis International Airport (IND). The airport is 50 miles north of Bloomington and serviced by most major carriers. Rent a car from the airport or take the shuttle bus.
